How to Cook Yum Ruam Mit Talay(Spicy Seafood Salad)

Ingredients

  • 100 grams – Squid
  • 100 grams – prawns
  • 15 grams – jelly mushroom, sliced and blanched
  • 30 grams – sliced cucumber
  • 40 grams – sliced white cabbage
  • 10 grams – sliced spring onion
  • 8 grams – chopped coriander leaf
  • 8 grams – celery stalks
  • 8 grams – minced red spur chilli
  • 10 grams garlic
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice

Ingredients for dressing

  • 4 tablespoons – sugar
  • 4 tablespoons – vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons – fish sauce
  • 2 grams – coriander root
  • 4 grams – chopped garlic
  • 4 grams – yellow spur chilli

Directions

Peel and de-vein prawns. Cut the squid into bite-size pieces. Blanch prawns and squid. Set aside

  •     Place prawns and squid in a bowl. Add dressing and mix well. Add lime juice to taste.
  •     Serve on a plate. Garnish with the deep-fried garlic.

For The Dressing
1. Pound coriander root with yellow spur chilli
2. Chop garlic.
3. Mix sugar, fish sauce and vinegar together in a pot over low heat. Add garlic and pounded coriander/chilli mixture. Stir until cooked through. Remove from heat and let it cool
4. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Add lime juice and sliced red spur chillies.

Tips!
– Don’t add lime juice to boiling water. The heat will removes lime’s sour flavor and fragrance out of soup
– Cut the vegetables into small pieces so it can absorb more dressing.
